Mental Health America of Indiana is a statewide organization, with over forty local chapters and branch offices, making it the largest Mental Health Association in the country. It was created to work for the mental health of all citizens and victory over mental illness. The Mental Health Association is how a broad-based group of citizens, consumers, individuals in recovery, families, and professionals working to:* Promote the mental health and recovery of all Indiana citizens through educational programs to increase public understanding and acceptance of persons with a mental illness and addiction disorders
* Foster the delivery of the most appropriate and effective services to all individuals in need
*Initiate reform of mental health and addiction service delivery system through advocacy and public policy
